Clinical Progression Massage

Everyone experiences soft tissue abnormalities or “knots”. Muscular imbalance incurs soft tissue compensations that have tendency to inhibit circulation &/or impinge nerve function, causing discomfort & disrupting function. Typically compared to a “Deep Tissue” treatment, Clinical Progression Massage combines a host of specialized techniques to help treat any imaginable causal factor (that which has an effect on tissue, action, &/or postural alignment) at every level of tissue structure (deep or superficial).

The intent of a Clinical Progression Massage is to assess soft tissue to locate areas of pathology and to facilitate change in that tissue to promote ideal function.

By using Kinesiology (study of muscles & movement), adverse conditions affecting soft tissue integrity are treated.

These conditions include, but are not limited to:

  • ADHESIONS: Binding of adjacent layers of soft tissue
  • BLUNDT INJURY OR SURGERY: Altered tissue from trauma &/or scar tissue
  • SOFT TISSUE STRAIN: Traumas to a muscle or a musculotendinous unit due to repetitive movement, excessive contraction, or forceful stretch
  • SOFT TISSUE STIFFENING: Formation of fibrous tissue as a reparative or a reactive process in an area it does not normally occur
  • ISCHEMIA: Lack of blood flow through an area or tissue
  • MYOFASCIAL TRIGGER POINTS: Myofascial trigger points (palpable tender spots due to overstretched &/or weakened skeletal muscle tissue that are hyperirritable when compressed, that refer or radiate pain in a characteristic pattern)

Multiple sessions may be necessary on similar area if extensive soft tissue pathology exists.

Unique specifics of muscle addressing can always be created based on cut required.
